Just found out about this online set up, glad to be here.

Am a long timer about ADD. Was diagnosed 15 years ago at 55 years of age, and have been attempting since then to ameliorate, work with/around the deficits as much as possible with not much success.

Am here to find help with the above and to talk to others and find out about how they're fareing with the struggle(s) we all face.

Hello and welcome to the website. I and others understand your frustrations, and all the rest in trying to get a hold of, and try to figure out ourselves and our ADHD lives. You and I have something in common. I was diagnosed around 13 years ago (by accident) at the age of 47. I'm still trying to work out 47 years of..... bad programing. All while trying to deal with all of everything else that's going on in my life.

Hello, welcome to this site. I am 29 and was diagnosed last month, and everything in my life has changed since then. I hope we will get good opportunities to share, grow and support each other in our common journey.

Hello and welcome. I’m another older-timer as well! I was diagnosed about 15 years ago too and I am just turning 60 years old.

I know how it feels to not have too much success with ADD-related behavior. I have attempted to change my behavior ever since I was in high school — it’s always in the back of my mind. I really want to control this behavior, and at the same time I know I need to accept a certain amount of it if I’m going to accept myself.

I think “60 years old and I’m still struggling with this?!” I do wonder if less flexible thinking that comes with older age can work against us. Regardless, I think we need to keep pressing to live our lives better everyday. It sounds like you are trying, and while it may be hard to see, I’m sure that you are bit by bit moving forward. So give yourself a slap on the back!

We got time!

Take care

The lack of success isn't strictly limited to behavior, it's also weasels its way into work/jobs/intimate relationships, and career, or lack of one, all of which I've been so spectacularly unsuccessful at for an adult lifetime.

Wouldn't mind sporadic down turns, but that's the "norm," not the exception.
