Phil from Modern Family and Andy Samberg in Brooklyn 99 are both speculated to have ADHD. Phil is even semi canonically confirmed.

I can't think of any serious shows or movies.

Oh wait, a medical drama called New Amsterdam. A character called Dr Laura Bloom.

I think it's a little like how the Big Bang Theory writers would never confirm that Sheldon was autistic. If they did, they'd have a huge responsibility to portray the condition accurately. And that was just too much responsibility for a silly little comedy.

ohh i love your observations spot on!Phil’s wife is neurotic AF! im thinking that is the best combo( ADHD n a neurotic) for long term relationships! lol lol lol

There's an early on where Clair gives him a list of chores to do, that he just can't start, because he keeps getting distracted. In the B-plot, the little girl thinks her brother has ADHD, she reads the list of symptoms aloud, while Clair has this priceless look of recognition.

People tripping on the broken stair that he never fixed is a running gag for the rest of the season.

One of the main characters in the show Mom is diagnosed to have ADHD.

The TV show Mom reminded me a lot of my family. No alcohol or drug problems in my family per se. But A LOT of undiagnosed ADHD and craziness. Which meant A LOT of dysfunction. I believe a lot of people, without an ADHD diagnosis and Rx, drink too much or use drugs to 'escape', to get away from their minds running 100mph. 'Mom' was one of the rare times when I had something comparable to the family I grew up in and got laughs (and relief?) from it instead of bad memories. I wish it was still on. Some of the writers HAD to know or grew up with family like that. You can't just 'come up with it'.

Jesus from The Fosters. They did a pretty good job with portraying an impulsive hyperactive presentation and the comorbidities that may come with it--Jesus suffered from severe TBI from a construction accident and may have also had a math learning disability. Also talked about how we are often used for our stimulants by our peers. Although that arc may have more negative effects in pushing parents away from medicating their kids.

The title character in the movie Juno has ADHD. It is stated openly in the dialogue that she has ADHD. (The movie theme is teen pregnancy, which is said to be more common among girls with ADHD than with neurotypical girls, but the character displays a range of ADHD characteristics, from impulsivity to creativity.)

It's a very explicit show and definitely not for everybody since it touches on a lot of hard topics, but Rue from Euphoria is diagnosed with ADHD. The show handles topics like drug abuse, addiction, sex and sexuality, etc. But just be warned, it is very graphic and heavy.
