Right to choose Psychiatry-UK for ADHD assessment denied by Oxfordshire CCG

My GP agreed to refer me to the local ADHD centre in Oxford to carry out an assessment. When I requested to be referred to Psychiatry-UK instead, through my Right to Choose, the GP forwarded me this message from the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group. Saw this happened to someone else in another forum too. Any advice on what to do? Are OCCG allowed to do this or are they infringing on my right to choose? Should I go through the complaints procedure or just stick with the local referral? Anyone had any experience with Oxford’s ADHD centre and know if they’re really that bad…?

Stick with the local referral for now but keep copys of everything for when or if you get refused. Then you will have paperwork backing you up for complaints procedure. Also make sure if you have them your child hood school reports and any mental health services and any police reports if any related to your mental health. I've heard a good few people have had there decision overturned and granted when them had there paperwork in order. But remember one thing with covid going on at the moment alot of mental health services are overwhelmed. All the best to you
