Adult ADHD ... Adderall 10mg to 20mg

I will be raising my daily dose of Adderall ER from 10mg to 20mg. What can I expect in terms of the effect that I will notice?

I began taking Adderall six weeks ago, also beginning with 10mg XR. After a month I went up to 20mg. At that point I began feeling a real impact in terms of alertness during the day. The chief downside is the difficulty getting to sleep and a noticeably higher average heart rate (I'd purchased a fitness tracker that monitored heart rate which turned out to be useful for this purposes). I'd just started getting used to te lower dose and had a couple of consecutive nights of good sleep, but the higher dose had me up again until 2-2:30 and awake 4-5 hours later. A few days ago I switched to the standard release which seems to have helped a bit. Slightly lower heart rate at night and 6+ hours of sleep. It's trial and error but beats the alternative. With every increase in my dosage, I saw significant improvement with my symptoms (self-control, productivity, impulsivity, organization, communication, etc). I have tried 6 or 7 different medications, but the right medication for me had minimal side effects.
