Newly Diagnosed; Southern Oregon Chapter

I am newly diagnosed with ADD. Looking back on my life I can see that I had it the whole time. I have a lot of anger outbursts and say a lot of things that get me into trouble. And, I don't know the first thing about treating ADD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm in the Southern Oregon area. I would like to start a local chapter here so that we have more support. The only group I found in Oregon was in Portland. Let me know if you're in the Southern Oregon area and want to help me start a chapter.

Hi there,For treating ADD theres two things you can do.

In general the best ways to treat ADD is medication and therapy.

For medication precription seek professional help from a psychiatrist or a neurologist :)

Try one, if it doesnt help or the side effects are too much, try another.

You dont have to use medication only if you feel like you want or need it.

As for therapy, its very reccomended for people with adhd to go with CBT (cognitive behavior therapy)

For some people, therapy is helpful enough on its own so try it out and make your own adjustments.

Hopefully this helped :)
