Let's Look at the Positives
My son, daughter and husband have ADHD. They are funny, extremely sincere, love adventure and totally committed to their dreams. I am still learning how to deal with some challenges, (homeschooling , disorganization etc) but I see a lot of positive on adhd patients too 🙃
The ability to hyper focus and do an insane amount of quality work that would exhaust a non ADHDer. 🤓 I was able to take 24 hour college semesters and received a 4.0 GPA... so there are definitely perks!
Oh, heck ya! We are more creative, intelligent and we feel deeply! I like us always have, I like the odd balls, they are the spice of life! Wonder if everyone was boring, what a dull World! We add the life to any party! I had a good friend that had rather a great deal of ADHD , and I still laugh at some of the great hilarious remarks he made over 30 years ago! I miss him! Embrace the difference! Hugs 🤗
Something I've personally found nice is how I don't stay angry for long or keep grudges. While I definitely have issues controlling my emotions and wish I didn't have some extreme reactions to certain things, being so quick to drop a grudge is something I like since doing that is pointless anyway.
Granted this has its own downside, since it can make me a bit of a doormat sometimes, but I think it ultimately has more benefits than downsides.
I like how I'm able to come up with ideas and new connections that never seem to occur to other people. Though sometimes I wonder if they don't think of them because they're bad ideas. But my brain is almost always up and trying to synthesize new stuff, whether it should be combined or not, and that's a plus for someone like me who makes art and needs new things to keep me motivated.
