ADHD meds - Slight burning sensation when peeing side effect

Hi all! But of a personal question but hopefully taken seriously - when I started taking my meds I experienced a side effect of a slight sensation when peeing. Not painful, but noticeable. I read a possible side effect of it can tighten some tube or something or other in the penis (for anyone worrying themselves, it did clarify this has no effect on the functionality or size of the penis). It wasn’t painful but I’m more of a slight burn. It was a slight sensation so it didn’t stop me taking them. I have since (not for this reason) stopped taking meds (for another reason momentarily) and the sensation has ceased. I am starting back on my meds tomorrow and if the sensation comes back is this something I ought to be worried enough to come off them or is it just another one of those slight side effects? Curious to know if anyone, also ladies, if they have had this and what their experience and decision was.

(I will be bringing it up with my Doctor but still I’m hoping to a point someone has, to discuss and put my mind at rest)

NB: No definitely isn’t an STI I can promise you that if anyone questions.

I felt that before. I take concerta and Ritalin some days. I thought it was from a lot of sex. But im unsure what caused the peeing sensation.

Did it go away after a while?

I have not experienced this so far. I would definitely discuss it with your doctor as soon as possible. Best Wishes for you 💙

I think I can relate to what you're describing. This seems to happen when I'm very dehydrated. Stimulant medications are vasoconstricting and diuretic (make you pee more), so just be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially if you're drinking caffeine on top of your meds.

But I'm just some guy on the internet. Your doctor knows best.

Not what you're looking for?
