Do we need to take the medication everyday at the same time? On the weekends, I would like to sleep in. Can I take it when I wake up?
Thank you!

Hello bern_430,
I'd call your pharmacy and ask if changing your medication routine will have any undesirable effects. Someone should be available to advise you.
Thank you!
I have done that, should be no problem . It is time released so I would not take it near bedtime.
I have ADHD.. There are different type of “make-ups” to médications that treat ADHD... You have to remember, ADHD is from a hormonal imbalance.. It is not because people just are crazy.. as people still believe the stigma of this disorder... Our problem is that we are not producing enough of the hormone that keeps our mind from going into continuous circle that have a bigger effect to us..
I was a RN.. also have it terribly.. Along with severe, recurrent and mixed PTSD.. So believe me I know how it is to forget to take your medication.. If you have an amphétamine in your medication.. you can change the time of day you take it.. Just Remember that we need to take this medication! If your medication does not have an amphétamine.. it is likely to be a type of antidepressant.. Now this is for a little bit type of treatment that Doctor use bcc of the safety issues and also because you don’t need any amphétamine.. We have chemical imbalances that kill off what hormones we make and also because there are chemicals.. and hormones imbalances where you have a very low production and so the medication help with your hormones etc to start producing more hormones. that are to keep our attention to things we do, focusing and doing things with out finishing bc we get very distracted by other things.... All the signs and symptoms you have to be diagnosed ass having this imbalances.
I would suggest this; if you are taking one with Amphétamines.. you can change the times you take it.. but to get yourself up and thinking straight.. you really should take it after you wake up for the day. Just remember if you feel you hit the wall. You need to take your second one..
However with any medical.. you have to basically follow the doctors instructions as for as how many times a day.. when to take it.. and I am sure that they said something about it if you stop taking it all together.. This is why you need to know about what type of medication you are taking. No Amphétamine.. then most likely you are on the other kind.. which is the type of medication you really can not stop taking.
You can have withdrawals from this type of medication.. You need to stay on this bc the levels in your blood will go down rapidly and you will feel like Shit..
If you want to take a nap.. Don’t fool with your medication... You are your own advocate ...
Think why you need to take a nap compared to what you felt when your medication really made you feel like you had some control , focusing better .. etc!
I know! I would love to take a nap.. but life has a different view on that... believe me , even when you take your medication and you are truly physically and mentally tired.. you will be able to take your naps. I know I have fell asleep right after it was in my system...
Thank you! What do you do about the crash? I am so over it! I'm freaking out... hot flashes, headache, staring...
The crash or the feeling like “hitting the wall” is very common in people that take ADHD medication... I know myself.. I am not a morning person at all.. so I have to take it in the morning or honestly what ever time I wake up...So try and remember what time you took it and what time in the day do you feel like you are About it to crash..and take your second dose when this feeling of being tired and unfocused etc .... Just do not miss days at a time on medication that are not amphétamine based...My advice is to look at what type of med you are on.. maybe you need to talk to your doctor about this bc if you are taking doses too soon together you will “crash “ ... probably much harder. Tell your Doctor that prescribes you this medication, maybe you need to be bumped up on the dosage... and another thing.. you might just be on the wrong type of medication given for ADHD... they may want to try u on something else... Are you overwhelmed... Trust me.. i hâte lived overwhelmed when in 2014 I left work at lunch and had a 18 wheeler run a red light and while I was going the intersection, i turned my head and had a grill coming toward my face.. needless to say that killed my chances of going back to work.. I have a young daughter that I take care of and an x who has so many resentments towards me.. He loved that I was starting to fall apart.. So he came in at my most vernable time in my life and filed Emergency Temp sole custody..
So what I am saying.. Take care of your mental health..!it makes a very huge difference in life....
Don’t throw in the towel Yet !!!
It's not taking too many doses... it's been 7 days since I started. I was taking 1 10mg per day. It has been a nightmare. Today I took a half about 730am and the other half at 130pm...
Ok.. I will tell you.. I went through the same thing when they changed my medication.. I was on Adderall.. but bc they thought I was having a problems with my blood pressure.. they put me on a different med.. Oh. mY GOd!! I couldn’t hardly make it to work or through the day!!! It was a terrible experience.... Can you tell me what med and what is your dosage and how is it ordered to take.. I do know pharmaceuticals a CB little bit than most people...
10mg generic Adderall.
