Viewing the world through a keyhole

My mind is constantly a buzz with activity and I’m ready to start my day. My day can literally get away from me and I still have not met my deadline. Constantly missing something, losing something or forgetting it can be frustratingly impossible.

hi A_tree, have you been to a doctor, tried any meds?

Adderall has given me focus to complete tasks and get things done. Some time I’ll get distracted just like before but more intense, I like to call it going down the rabbit hole. I’m not sure that makes any sense.

plan. focus.

imo adhd caan be easily suppressed by doing plans and following through.

brain is pretty fast to associate small victories qith pleasant feeling, thus it will find buzzing mind/adhd state as useless and will naturally stop.

.

i started with something as simple as planning I will every morning wake up, make my bed, exercise. After doing it aome time it becomes a positive habit, and at the moment you realize it is now a pleasant habit, you feel joy.

Create lots of planned, focuaed habits.

Your brain wont be like - I got to do that and that andthat and this and dadadadada - because it will know that after this 1 hour habit will come next habit. it will have calm plan already set and racing thoughts will be discarded as not suiting the calm plan/habits

I can see the logic in the planning activity approach.

Thanks

Try to give yourself a break, when things like that happen and slow down. I found making lists work for me. I keep a small notebook handy and make them when my brain gets busy with any tasks, thoughts, questions and ideas that may have significance. When I complete an item on that list I check it off, it's not only a visual sense of accomplishment but also a sense of security for the mind the task was completed.Things like that happen because the brain isn't focusing on one task at hand, but many tasks we wish to accomplish during the day. Routine is also key, if we make a routine for ourselves and our stick to that routine it become automatic and less gets left out or forgotten. The only other tip I can offer is KEEP IT SIMPLE! Try to simplify things in your life and make your environment and lifestyle as user friendly to you as possible! Best of luck! I'm starting from scratch again with all of this and it is not easy, but it's worked for me before so worth a second try for me!
