I am on 40 mg. First day I could tell a huge difference. Today, second day, I can't even tell I took the medication. Is this normal?
First day on Vyvanse.: I am on 40 mg... - CHADD's Adult ADH...
First day on Vyvanse.
I had the same issue with Vyvanse but also Mydayis and Adderal. Sometimes it was because I didn't get much sleep the night before. If I ate a big breakfast especially is it contained fat like sausage. I found what I took the pill with could also make me feel like I didn't take the med. I drink Gatorade a lot and was told the citric acid, which is a preservative, in it can preserve the pill long enough that it makes it through your digestive system before it breaks down. So, try to watch those things, rest, food, no citric acid, and see if that helps at all.
For me Vyvanse was very smooth compared to Adderal. I did not get the initial kick in the butt feeling when I took vyvanse like Adderal. Vyvanse also didn't have as harsh of a drop of either. This made me feel like the Vyvanse didn't have any effect sometimes.
I think too, as a fellow middle aged Vyvanse taker, have developed a lot of self awareness over the years. Find the Vyvanse is subtle enough you still have to have those internal conversations about toning it down (I am known as a talker) but you are saying less anyway. Don't interrupt as much these days, appetite seems to be lessened (but still love sugar) and can stay on task (as long as they are interesting). So in terms of changing behaviour, am the only one aware of the change. Had zero side effects and consider it the perfect med for slowing the amount of thoughts in my head, diminishing highly emotional personality (which is a good thing) and just being present. If Iate taking pill can feel "energizer bunny brain" kick in. I am bipolar as well, and I think one condition was feeding the other. Hence, late in life diagnosis.
