I'm curious what is a perfect first job to manage as a person with ADHD? I'm curious to know many of your first jobs. Being it part-time, full time or just volunteer.

My first job was babysitting, then at 15 I worked at Taco Bell. Looking back now I know working there had there bennifits and drawbacks. I was very impulsive when it came to food and I was working in an enviroment that only had crap and easy to grab crap at that.

As a bennifit I was able to see the whole spectrum of good work ethics to very bad, with friends of mine being fired for having a poor work ethic.

My first job was fast food service worker. It involved a lot of movement and a variety of tasks so it was good for my condition. The main struggle was of course relating well and working with others, but that comes with experience and gaining confidence.

I had a few "first jobs" when I was in high school/college. I typically worked a few jobs at a time. You know, on account of the 'always on the go' part of ADHD (although I was not diagnosed at the time, I knew I had to keep busy). I worked in fast food which I actually really enjoyed. It was fast paced, I always saw new people and there was something really nice about working a 'clock in clock out' job (unlike the stressful work I do now). I also worked for multiple newspapers. I loved the thrill of being 'on the scene' or reporting on big events. Since I was freelance, I typically only did a story or two a week, but really enjoyed it because it was always different.
