Iv only been Diagnosed with ADHD for about 1 year now. Im 35 years old. I feel like I forgot alot of stuff and i dont realize some of the stuff i do. Like last night i did lundry and i folded a purple towel and left it on the dryer to bring up to the bathroom. I went to take a shower today i ran down to get it and used it and hung it up next to the other towels. We always use green towle in the bath room. My girl friend got upset and thinks i used the purple one on purpose to make her mad. It dident even occur to me that it waa purple and green. I dont know how i could not see that. People say i forgeting stuff on purpose or that i did half a job to be lazy or i just do stuff wrong to piss people off. Do people with ADHD forget alot or dont realize stuff they did?

We can't help forgetting stuff. our job is to find ways to help us remember - but I still do that kidn of thing ALOT. You were distracted when you got the towel and you missed the detail (color) whcih is a typicl ADHD thing to do. And people do tend to think we're doing it on purpose when actually we can't help it. Best solution? Sounds like you and your girlfriend both need some education about what ADHD is and how it works.

Try to be in the present. Practice helps and you may feel silly doing it but maybe you can try talking to yourself or out loud narrating what you’re doing as your doing it. Sometime I do that in song. Like I’m taking a shower cleaning my hair now I’m washing toes, etc
