I'd like to know how many took meds as a child. I took Ritalin at age 7 spent my how life medicated either on prescriptions, drugs & alcohol. When I'm not medicated I'm manic and my thoughts don't make sense. I'm scared I learned a lot and I see my life like a million movie. I'm also starting to understand my brain needs chemicals to function. I learned how to adapt on meds as a kids the weed and booze as a Young teen. Then 16 meth for a very short time stopped got back on my med but Adderall this time on that and weed till I met my ex husband. But mostly weed till I was 29-31 fell of the wagon. But my husband left me for another woman selling dope. Now I was using till Jan 6th now I feel I'm slowly losing it I have a med Dr on Monday hope we can help change who we give children drugs. I for one thing my opinion 25 is a good age to do any mood altering chemicals.

I didn’t get diagnosed until 38. My brother was diagnosed as a kid and has addiction issues. My parents do too, but with my kids doing well with medications and not drugs, I would say it depends on the environment you are in more than if you take adhd medications.
