I know a lot of us rely on section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act for accommodations for our kids in school. This lawsuit, Texas v Bacerra, was recently submitted to remove the protections. If you don’t agree with the lawsuit please contact your state attorney general, especially if in one of the pink highlighted states

This is horrible, so many children are helped by these plans. They are not perfect but can really help support children who need accommodations.
Thank you SO much for posting this! So important to email or call your state’s attorney general office! If 504 is found unconstitutional it will affect every kid with a 504 in every state.
If you are in a pink state, urge them to drop out of the case Texas vs. Becerra and tell them how losing 504 would affect your family.
If you are in a blue state, urge your AG to submit an amicus brief to the court emphasizing how important 504 is to people living with disabilities.

One more thing to keep an eye on. Section 5, part 3 of yesterday’s Executive Order to Make America Healthy Again establishes a commission to report on how to make America’s Children Healthy. One area requires it to (iii) assess the prevalence of and threat posed by the prescription of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, stimulants, and weight-loss drugs.” Report and recommendations within 100 days….
be sure to read it thoroughly, they are trying to identify why America has such a huge increase in so many illnesses in our kids. Looking at additives in our foods, how food is grown and processed, looking at toxic metals in our food. This could be a good thing, I find it a challenge to shop and have to use my “Yuka” app just to see what ingredients are in anything I want to buy just to see what ingredient’s could be harmful. How nice it would be if we could shop and not have to worry about which harmful dyes or other crap has been added.
Because there is not a huge increase, they're being recognized and diagnosed earlier and not dismissed with "you just need to..."
More information is always better.

The fact that they are coming after the most vulnerable should be a giant red flag to everyone! Sadly, it's not.

Update: Thanks everyone for your support and interest in this concern. The law suit has been dropped for now. It seems it was originally brought to resist the last administration's addition of gender dysphoria to disability protections but that is likely to be accomplished through current policy and the law and its constitutionality are not currently being challenged. However, there are still challenges to education for children with special needs, I'll try to post separately on that. I don't even have me kid in school yet, whew, this is a lot!.
