Well after 3 years and 3 evaluations I finally got the autism diagnosis for my son with adhd. It was hard especially hearing family say oh he’s just a boy, he’s spoiled, you’re wrong. Drs saying he meets certain points but is social because he speaks clearly. I’m just saying this to say don’t give up and always advocate for these babies

Finally a diagnosis

I bet that is a relief and validating. So many "experts" share their opinions, but we as the mom know our children and need to keep advocating for them. Good job!! I hope things make progress soon.
gosh I feel I’m in that boat. It’s like he’s on the cusp of autism and he too speaks well. Slightly looking away with no eye contact and sensory issues that aren’t alarming. My family says the same things too!!!! We at 60 and 62 raising our grandchild since birth. He is like I raising 3 kids again!!! Totally different. Really really hard. He is only in 1st grade but with all S and S+ gradesBUT the behaviors and loud talking and thinking certain kids are staring at him is getting too much. In addition he had 6-7 drugs I him and delivered I withdrawal.
Finally got referred to psych for medication management at my request.
We need to advocate for these kiddos. But it is so exhausting. Congratulations on staying the course!!
