How do you know when it increase Intunive.

My 12-year-old son has been on Intunive ER for 2 years. He was started on 1 mg which has been working great. We saw a much calmer, less fidgety child, better sleep habits, and improved social and executive functioning skills. These past few months we have seen more inattentiveness and fidgeting going on. His teachers are also reporting more chatty behavior and rushing to get schoolwork done with several easy-to-avoid errors.

Could this just be puberty, normal behavior or a need to increase the dosage?

Any suggestions on how to address this with a 12 year-old boy to have him truthfully tell us what and how he is feeling?

We had to completely redo my grandson meds, which had worked perfectly all through grade school, once he hit middle school. It was suddenly like he wasn't on anything, constantly disrupting classes. Took awhile to get him back on track, too. Talk to his doctor and good luck.

I'd try increasing it, 1mg is usually a starting dose. My 9 year old takes 2mg and he weighs 87 pounds.

definitely talk to the doc, but as kids get older in general, they get bigger/heavier. This usually means they need higher doses. I would say it’s time to go up, but definitely go through doc first.

Our 12 yo has been on Intuniv for about 2-3 years. We started at 1mg and had to stay there for over 2 years because his blood pressure would drop too much at 2mg. We were able to move to 2mg this January. We just started 3 mg this week to see if there is any added benefit. Talk to your provider but it sounds like an increase would be worth a try.
