Hi! My son was seen by a child psychiatrist for the first time today. He wants to trial him on Azstarys to see what helps him best with impulse control and hyperactivity. He’s actually not the combined type.. he’s the hyperactive / impulsive adhd type. Sharing any experiences your kids have had on this medication would be appreciated! He’ll be starting it tomorrow or the day after. Thank you!!

my daughter is on it & it’s a wonderful experience. We’ve tried others but this one has been the best. My only advice is to not go up to fast. It’s about them learning strategies and having meds. We’ve had to come back down one level once we figured it out. It shouldn’t change their personality.
I’ve never heard of this med. it’s not even on my gene sight test. Is it a stimulant or constituent?
My understanding of it from the psychiatrist is that it’s a stimulant similar to focalin (same family), but that Azstarys is more of a slow and controlled release throughout the day to get more coverage - up to 13hrs. It starts working in 30 min but it’s less noticeable when it kicks in and wears off.
Agree. It has a good sustained effect for those who respond. Make sure you use the company's discount coupon/copay card if you have private insurance.
