We have an almost 6 year old whom we suspect has ADHD. Things have been quite challenging at home. Is anyone aware of resources about getting a child evaluated for ADHD that will not cost thousands and thousands of dollars? We live in Connecticut.
Thank you!

I went in to his pediatrician for a referral but he was able to do it himself instead of paying thousands for a specialist. It was actually quite a simple process where I filed out a questionnaire and his teacher also filled one out, and depending on the answers is how they scored my boy for ADHD. Hope that helps.
do you have any insurance? If you ask your pcp, they can refer you to get a neurological exam. If they send you there, insurance usually covers most or all of it.
Some doctors just do a questionnaire for diagnosis and that’s quite affordable.
My pediatrician referred us to a Pediatric Neuropsychologist. I made sure to contact my insurance before any testing was done and made sure the doctor was in network. I also had the office give me the CPT and Dx codes and checked with insurance that those would also be covered and what my patient responsibility would be for it. Then it just depends on your benefits.
