Hi , so I'm 27Female was diagnosed with adhad 5-6 months ago and I'm taking Wellbutrin 300mg and Vyvanse 40mg currently. Before my doctor was taking away the Wellbutrin so I was taking 150mg and I just started taking Vyvanse 20mg . My emotions was a roller coaster and I was extremely depressed like extremely. And Vyvanse 20 mg was not being effective so he changed it to 40mg.

It's been like a week and a half of taking Vyvanse 40mg and being back on my Wellbutrin. I've been experiencing zoning out . I'm curious if anyone experience this as well.

I literally just took my first dose of Wellbutrin 150mg er and I’ve been in vyvance 50mg for a few months. I’ll let you know what happens lol. But they also started me on Intuniv (guanfacine) as well.

I’d replay recommend that you read this article from a UK newspaper The Guardian about ADHD medication experience of one of the paper’s journalist who has also been diagnosed as an adult.

I’d say follow your instinct and if you think the way you function is not to your liking then rather than adding extra meds and upping doses- stop and think. Many people with ADHD also suffer from depression and sometimes rather than mixing all meds together it’s best to first address depression (with meds for depression) and then start meds for ADHD. You might be one of those very sensitive to stimulants and maybe if you were started slowly like on 10mg stimulant maybe you would find that this is actually enough for you.

One thing I’d say- you dealt for so long without the diagnosis so you must have developed good coping strategies. So be proud of it and use those strategies and then a bit of help from meds.
