When I looked into it, it had no vetting by the medical community, no peer reviews, and while the developer calls him self Dr. So-and-So, he is a chiropractor. It’s very expensive and at the time of my investigation NOT covered by insurance. I took my son to the free intro/evaluation and even though he thought it was fun, I did not enroll him for the reasons I stated above.

We have an Indo board in the living room and my whole family uses it. My husband, 11 year old daughter, and 9 year old son all have ADHD. Indo boards cost between $132-$300 depending on the design of the board. Getting a simple original one to have in your house might be cheaper than going to a balance center. I have never heard of these. Amazon sells Indo boards, try any surf/skate shop if they are near you, or order directly from Indo board website (I think). Just a thought…

I don’t know if this is considered Brain Balance but I took my daughter to Learning Rx for an eval/intro when she was around nine (before diagnosis but I knew). I decided not to do it because the head of the business has no medical or neuropsych background. She’s a business person making big claims to cure adhd or learning difficulties by targeting weaknesses over a short period of time. I actually think it could be beneficial, it’s logical to work on weak areas, but we needed to commit to three times a week for 9 months. I didn’t believe in it enough to make that big of a commitment. However, it was a step on the way to diagnosis and figuring out what works.

I looked into it, and did some internet research. I’ve attended a few of their free seminars for different things. The whole idea behind it sounds logical, strengthening the prices of the Brain that are weak by exercising them. The same concept to correcting vision by covering one eye to exercise and strengthen the eye that isn’t strong. But like everyone else has said there isn’t any medical back up to this so it’s hard to say if it really works……

We decided that if we get to a point where we want to try it then we will pay for the evaluation which indicates the sections of the Brain that are weak and then research how to strengthen those sections ourselves.

We tried it and while my son enjoyed it, I didnt see any real changes, which was disappointing given how expensive it was.
