Should we pursue a 504 Plan?

Are there any reasons not to have my 16-yo daughter (recently diagnosed with ADHD) get a 504 plan? Are accommodations (such as more time on the SAT) available without one? Or is this plan the foundational requirement for students with ADHD?

Yes..It has helped us alot. We have asked for all academi classes in the morning becuase medication wears off by the afternoon. But extra time has helped the most that is on both assignments and exams.

Also when he goes to college it will help him.
