Med Check Visits

We recently switched to a high deductible insurance plan with my husband's new job. He and my 2 sons all have ADHD and take Adderall XR and Concerta. With our old insurance they just saw their primary care doctor's 4 times a year to manage their medications. With our new insurance those visits are costing us $300-400 each which could be close to $5000 a year just for those appointments, not adding in the actual medication.

I read this article: chadd.org/adhd-news/adhd-ne...

So I'm looking into other options... has anyone used one of the online ADHD Doctor services like ADHD Online?

Or switched to a cheaper PA or NP for those medication check appointments?

I only see a NP. They are monitored by a Dr so it really made sense for me.

We see an NP who focuses on medications. She was experienced enough to assist in finding the right medication and monitoring side effects. It sounds like you have a pretty good medication program already in place so the switch could be relatively straightforward and cost-effective.
