Thank you for this wonderful article. I believe burnout happens at all ages when we have children at home. I hope to follow the advice of soing something for myself everyday, even if it is listening to classical music on the way to work.

This is so my life right now. The only relief I've had--with a clear improvement in my mood--is when I went out of town for 4 days for a work and social trip alone in the city where we used to live. I came back so refreshed! Didn't take long to become overwhelmed, though. Need to develop more regular, sustainable tactics.
Burnout is what I primarily work with as a Parenting Coach. I experienced it as a mom with a child with ADHD, OCD, DMDD and Anxiety. I learned through coaching on how to find my inner strength, inspiration and joy joy so I could be a better and more confident mom. Burnout hurts the whole family.
