Hi all, I’m so overwhelmed with emotions , I have a 9 year old diagnosed at 6 with ADHD/ODD and Dyslexia. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions. I fight with myself all the time wishing I knew more or was able to help him more but I’m learning as he grows. I feel like each year I learn something new about him . Sometimes I get so scared because I want him to survive in this world that’s already hard on the norm but lack compassion on the typical. But I’m excited to be surrounded by so many common feeling ❤️

Hi Super_MomWelcome to the group!
I think you will find many people here who relate to how you feel. You mention you wish you knew more. You may already use some of these but I would suggest ADDitude magazine, Impact Parents and Parenting ADHD and ADHD Dude podcasts, books by Ned Hollowell and Russell Barkley. I have found online parenting courses and webinars helpful. Others here will have other suggestions.
Remember to care for yourself first (easier said than done but still important).
I hope 2022 is a good year for you and your family
I’m in the same boat. It is extremely hard to manage adhd/ odd with Dyslexia.
I aim for progress not perfection.. one day at a time without thinking too far ahead. Easier said however our situations is very exhausting and you need to protect your self from extra stress.
