Hello everyone!

My 14 year-old son has just started on Strattera, 18 mg for this week and next week, we move to 25 mg.

He's taken other types of medication prior to this to mainly regulate his temper and frustration. He also takes ability in the morning.

Now, we're trying Strattera in the hope that he'll get going a bit quicker and better with his school work. We're hoping it'll get a boost with it.

As we all do, I've read all about Strattera, the need to remain patient, the side effects, and the truth is I would love it if it works. Please 🙏

I don't really have a specific question for you in this great forum but feel free to get back to me with your experience.

Thank you.

May I ask what your child takes to regulate his temper? My 14 yo is now on Guanfecine and Wellbutrin, hoping it helps manage his emotions AND ADHD. Thanks

Hi! Thanks for getting in touch.

My son takes 2.5 mg of Ability. It's a very low dose as he cannot tolerate a higher one. It just about calms his temper and frustrations. Not perfect.

He was on Guanfacine too but a very low dose as well as he kept falling asleep ( 2mg). It didn't have any impact as the dose was too low. We've swapped it for Strattera.

He's been on it for 4 days and for the first time this morning, he sorted his own breakfast and put everything away afterwards. Not sure if good executive functions are getting better.

Still can't get him to do much school work.

Tell me more about your child too.

All the best.
