Hi my son is 12 and has adhd, and a learning disability. He hates school, and barely puts out any effort. He has a para that helps him. Now that he is doing distance learning I’m helping him. He’s been on Concerta for about 5 years. We’ve lowered the dose raised the dose, tried a afternoon dose, basically everything. I don’t think they are working for him. Yes he is calmer, but he still gets moody, and his school work is not improving. I still think focus is a huge issue. I keep seeing advertisements for Brilla every where, testimonials from parents, and kids. Has any one tried it? It’s very expensive, but honestly if it would be so worth it if it helped my son. Any advice on getting off medication, and taking another approach would be welcome advice!

Hello, I can tell you first hand it's either Ritalin based products or Amphetamine based stimulants. On Ritalin I was very moody, volatile, and violent. When I was switched back to Dexedrine now Zenzedi all the negative symptoms stopped. it's usually one or the other I have tried tons of natural remedies and aside from Magnesium Glycinate and a Bioactive B Vitamin they were useless. Focus Factor , God awful Fiengold diet etc. It's not stimulants that most likely are the problem its very likely the Ritalin there are several new once a day amphetamine based stimulants so before you most likely waste money on a supplement try switching him off Ritalin it make me a complete nut as it does a lot of others. It's just a life time severe Adher's advice. Good Luck
