My son recently went up to 60mg of Vyvanse from 50. We were also giving him 1.5 tabs of Guanfacine in the evening. The guanfacine did not give good results and his psychiatrist is suggesting trying Lexapro and dropping the Guanfacine. Anyone have experience with Lexapro with anxiety and rigidity? And if we do not see any improvement with Vyvanse changing to Folcalin. Same question...anyone find a better response with attention with Folcalin compared to Vyvanse.

What is your experience with Lexapro and Folcalin?
Lexapro 10mg has been really helping my 9 yr old with his anxiety now that it’s been about 6 months. What a world of difference! He’s also takes Strattera for the ADHD and it’s helping too. Good luck finding the right combo for your kid’s brain chemistry!
My 11 yo takes Lexapro and Adderall. The Lexapro really changed her life - so much better with anxiety, rigidity and irritability. The Adderall is awesome too. We really got our little girl back because of these medications. There really weren’t any side effects with the Lexapro. The Adderall gave her a crash in the mid afternoon but that stopped when her body adapted to the medication. For us, focalin caused irritability but it sounds like that’s not a problem for you? I really have nothing but good things to say about Lexapro - happy to answer any more specific questions.
Focalin worked well for my son for a while. He had terrible crying spells on even a low, 10mg dose of vyvanse. Every single time he’d take it he’d be a ball of tears. Switching to Focalin worked well until we tried to increase the dosage. A 5mg increase lead to more ticks like hard blinking that were just tough to deal with. But it was perfectly fine at the lower dose.
