Thanks for sharing this! What an amazing principal! I am located in Ontario Canada, where our Minister our Education, who in her "wisdom" has decided that larger high school classes will benefit students by increasing their resiliency and coping skills. Really? All that will happen in this scenario is that kids will continue to slip through the cracks and be underserved. How amazing, that the principal in this video, saw the humanity in her students and understood, that how helping children cope with challenging emotions allowed them an opportunity for a successful life!
Yes, for some reason I cried becuase I know how much our children could have and that this principal didn't do what other did, she ( can't spoil it) changed things and look who benefitted...
I want to March into the superintendent's office, she said she has "an open door policy", right? Sit there and play this..
Wow Joanne, just wow. I feel do lucky because her school has actually been amazing with her IEP, but I hear not such great things about 7th and 8th grades.
I'm with you moveon - I am THAT kind of Mom - let's mobilize!!
