Small victory - impulsive decision making

So my Dad saves up all his change for my daughter. I have no idea how he gets that much change, but she had about $30 to spend this weekend. We talked before we went about taking our time and really deciding what she wanted. We went to Target yesterday. It took about two hours of her browsing the toy aisle. She picked up things, asked how much they were, carried them around for awhile, I would say "then you will have no money left", "are you sure you want to spend your money on that?" "Christmas is coming, maybe you want to spend that on a Christmas gift". In the end she only spent about $10.00 on one toy. Although it took a lot of patience and a lot of questioning, in the end it wasn't impulsive and she really thought about it. In the past she would have just spent her money immediately on crap. I'm calling it a victory.

victory for sure! good for her. now she is going to be able to enjoy at least 1 or 2 more shopping adventures on top of getting something she wanted.
