Has anybody use these techniques for their ADHD child? If so any suggestions / videos / books that helped get started.

Mindfulness and meditation
We haven't used this consistently enough for to say if it's been helpful, but it surely cannot hurt.
We like the Headspace app. Also GoNoodle (an app with movement activities for kids - lots of school use it during indoor recess) has some mindfulness activities. We also liked the book Breathe like a Bear by Kira Willey - the "blowing on hot cocoa" one I use a bunch.
Semi-related, but making calming glitter bottles are fairly helpful and make for a fun & easy craft time.
We really like the Kids Relax meditations. You can find them on YouTube or iTunes. My son’s favourite is Hot Air Balloon Ride and Space Adventure and listens to them at bedtime or if he needs some downtime.
His psychologist also recommended Mindfulness Skills for Kids Card Deck but we haven’t picked this up yet (only have the 2 she copied for us).
Thanks rckline and BlueysMom for the suggestions. I have not been doing this for long, maybe 2 weeks but have noticed he is going to sleep easier. Just wanted to try / add more to the routine.
I second the vote for Headspace. My son and I did several of the kids-focused guided meditation modules. They are short and sweet, help center the body and mind, and were very kid-friendly. My son really loved the little animated videos that wonderfully explained several concepts in meditation. I can't say that they really helped because we didn't do it often or consistently enough, but my hope is that this is just the beginnning of introducing mindfulness into his life. I agree that it certainly can't hurt. We also use bubbles to practice deep breathing (as recommended by his therapist).
There is also a website and probably an app. It’s CALM.com.
My son uses it when he needs to reset and if used consistently I think it can be very helpful. My son takes meds so he uses it at the end of the day when the meds have worn off and there is still work to do.

Hello Sitting Still Like a Frog is a book with meditation cd for kids. My whole family (kids 7& 5) use it. It is divided into short meditations, 5 mins or less and depending on what you want them to work on- anxiety, taking a moment to pause, before bedtime, etc. The cd is also great in car rides. And thanks for the other suggestions guys!
