Adhd newbie

My son is 10 years old and has been recently diagnosed with adhd. He is very tempermental and gets angry very easily. The reactions that I have seen lately have been somewhat frightening to me.

Hi!

I have had my adopted daughter since she was 7. She has severe ADHD. She started on meds when she was 9 and has changed four times in 2 and a half years. Her body adjusts and it no longer works even at the highest dosage. Have you tried changing his meds?

They actually are trying behavioral therapy first before medication.

My daughter had it for two years. She still does counseling and a program at school. But she didn’t really improve until she was on meds and then it was a complete change.

Yes my now 10 year old son has done/said alarming things also. I’m not sure what to say except that you are not alone. We’ll be going to family adhd counseling this summer and hopefully I will gain some insight.
