Hi I'm Liz. I have two kids 4 & 5. My 5 year old son has ADHD. We are currently attending Brain Balance three days a week and he is on very low dose meds during school to help with his outbursts. I am struggling with his anger issues especially since he is getting bigger. That is why I joined this group.

Hey Liz, I have an 8 yr old son that was diagnosed with ADHD last summer and is on a low dose of meds as well. We noticed his anger issues long before he was diagnosed and out of desperation tried removing artificial food coloring from his diet. Within a week or two it made a HUGE difference. He still suffers from a high level of anxiety but the anger isn't there as much. He used to just rage over the smallest things. I don't know how common the food coloring issue is, but it may be worth a try. It is definitely hard at first because you'd be surprised what has food coloring. (Blue 1 in white marshmallows? Yellow 3 in a jar of pickels? Really?) Anyway, I hope that helps and I wish you luck! -Doug

Thanks for the info. We have gone gluten free hoping that would help but I think there are still dyes in some of the food.

My son is 6 almost 7, he hit my last week because I told him he was lying. He told me that he didn't like that word and since I didn't listen so he hit me to make me stop saying lying. He later admitted he was lying.
