Sorry my 3 yr old toddler pushed buttons on my phone... what I was trying to say is that my 12 yr old is on iep, but it does not seem to be helping. On top of that his iep teacher left! And now he has a new teacher, that knows absolutely nothing about him.

Just like with everything related to ADHD, it's a trial and error. When you come up with an IEP plan at first it doesn't mean it's necessarily going to work. My son's first 504 didn't work for him and we had to go back to the drawing board to make changes. Don't expect that you're going to have all the answers or even that the school is going to have all of the answers. Keep on trying new things until you hit on something that works for your 12 year old.

As far as getting a new IEP teacher, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Yes, you'll have to educate the new teacher about your child, but with new individuals can come new ideas to help your child.
