Hi everyone first time posting anything. You've all helped tremendously and are very knowledgeable. My son is 4 and i believe has odd and adhd he's getting an in home assessment soon for an iep and I just wanted to know what that entails? Should I have his little brother there? Also the school nor drs will diagnose him with adhd until he is 6, even though he has all of the symptoms super frustrating because we'd just like a confirmation on what we're dealing with.

I agree with having his brother around so the team can see how he may react to triggers. My 9 year old son may be a little gentleman around adults, especially new ones, but when his 4 1/2 y/o sister is around, in most cases she will trigger some if his not so pleasant behaviors. Same with his schoolmates.

No one likes to label a child too early. MY grandson's doctor says labels are not important, just getting them help is.

I never had an IEP at such a young age. You can put IEP advice into a search engine and gets lots of ideas about what others have had put in theirs.
