Has someone said to you that "Medication for ADHD is over-prescribed?"

We asked a member of CHADD's Professional Advisory Board about this. Check out what he has to say in "Why Does the Idea Persist that ADHD Meds are Over-prescribed?" at bit.ly/NRCAreMedsOverPrescr....

What do you think?

No one should ever criticize someone for medicating their child. There are so many different degrees of adhd. There's a big difference between a child having trouble keeping their focus and a child who gets sent home from school for out of control, impulsive behavior. Focalin has been a miracle drug. ADHD and the other disorders that seem to go along with it..OCD, anxiety, ODD, eating disorders, hoarding. ... feels more like a mental illness than a disorder. Walk in someone else's shoes for awhile before making that judgment call.
