Hello everyone, my name is Abby and my 5 year old son was pre-diagnosed with ADHD. I honestly don't know what to do, his pediatrician is pushing us to have him under medication, but I am scared . Does anyone know of any natural treatment? Thank you

HI, sorry to hear that. My daughter now 12 yrs old had the same problem. She was diagnosed with ADHD at age 4, kicked out of first grade school the next year then forced by her school principle to see a phycologist at age 6. At the first visit after about 2-3 min., the phycologist wanted to prescribe her a SSI drug which I refused and signed her up for group therapy. The first therapy session was horrible, my daughter come out very stressed so I cancelled the rest of the therapies and never went back. I changed my daughter's diet and gave her supplements. She was about 8 yrs old when I started to see changes, she was able to focus better, seat still longer and the tantrums were less. Today, she is 12 and she is a normal teenager, if I tell anyone she had ADHD no one would believe me. Right now, she is eating normal but if she eats something with too much artificial stuff and too much sugar part of the old kid come out of her and she becomes jumpy so we try to avoid those things. I hope that this helps.

Thank you so much your your advice... I just very stressed out about the whole situation, he is very smart but keeping hands to himself has become a challenge at school. We are working on changing his diet little by little. Your words help me a lot... I need it some one else besides family members to guide me ... I truly appreciate your time 🙂

What kind of diet are you using? Our daughter was diagnosed about a month ago. She is on methylphenidate. She seems to do good in school but when she gets home she has major meltdowns and tantrums. Homework is a nightmare. Maybe changing her diet on top of meds might help. We have taken everything with red dye out of her diet. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Hi, maybe a high protein low sugar snack would help boost her dopamine. Also could try a little caffeine or methylphenidate 5 or 10 mg “booster” to get through homework time. I give my kids dark chocalate. Smarty Pants vitamins (now sold at Costco) were recommended by our psychiatrist although I haven’t noticed any difference in my kids. I think it is extremely common for kids to be emotional when the meds are wearing off. I consider it a vulnerable time and try to be considerate of their needs.

Thank you for your advice. We are new to the medication and I have wondered about how she feels when she is coming off of it.

Hello my nine-year-old was just diagnosed also and his doctor was not hurry to put him on any medication the natural stuff she told me to try is gluten-free food even snacks and 4 cups of coffee or tea hello my nine-year-old was just diagnosed also and his doctor was not hurry to put him on any medication the natural stuff she told me to try is gluten-free Phood even snacks and 4 cups of coffee or tea today per day I love him to drink one on the mornings before school and he takes two to school with him and on so far so good and he is doing very well I even notice he’s not forgetting stuff like you normally do he is so much more focus or even Friday surprisingly he came home and told me that he made 100 On a math test I email his teacher and she even confirmed that he did and he was quite focus and so I am just keeping my fingers crossed and because I truly don’t believe in medication I had pass experience with my foster kids that was on ADHD medication which sometime trick off really bad behaviors and one more thing and my son likes to chew everything he will chew every bottle top drawers anything he can get his ends on even in his bedroom when he is at his window looking out he will chew on the blinds his T-shirt he’s wearing sure all on the necklines and so on Amazon I got him some really fashionable chew necklace etc that is designed for kids with ADHD And he loves it and I do think it helps with his concentration in school And I will also add a lot of prayer because I think it helps him through the day and it also helps me best of luck God bless
