18 years of pain

I have been diagnosed with diffused adenomyosis. I finally have a reason for my pain, I have had the coil, prostrap injections and patch in the past but I am done. I don't want pain anymore and the irregular heavy bleeding, the nausea, pain and bleeding during and after sex the list can go on.

I have been disbelieved about my pain many times over the years. No one found anything until now. I have been told I was making my pains up, that maybe I need mental health involvement etc.

I'm so done and just want a hysterectomy leaving behind my ovaries. How likely is this to be accepted by the doctors? I have 3 children and was waiting for a sterilisation anyway. At 36 I'm done and just want it to stop and now I finally have an answer, I just want it to go away.

Hello,I'm sorry, I can't offer any advice.

I was hoping you might be able to share some of your experience?

I too have just been diagnosed with adenomyosis. But the gyne that did it was very dismissive and said it won't be causing any of my pain or my symptoms :(.

My pain is causing me to suffer daily, I'm struggling with managing work and on a ridiculous amount of pain killers. Pain and bleeding during sex too, just started zoladex injections. On the patch back to back too and previously been on the coil.

I was wondering if you could share what your gybe told you about the condition and how they diagnosed you?

Hi,

I totally understand how you feel!

I was diagnosed last year after 23 years of symptoms and being dismissed by Doctors. I’m 38, with 3 children and have daily symptoms and heavy, irregular bleeding due to Adenomyosis! I’m on the urgent surgery list for a hysterectomy at the moment. I told my consultant that I wanted a hysterectomy as all the other treatments I had tried have failed. He agreed that this was the next step forward and a full & final cure for Adenomyosis.

I would speak to your consultant and tell them that you can’t go on like this and want a hysterectomy.

Good luck.
