Laxatives and low fodmap

Hi,

I have posted this also in A few other networks but am desperate for a quick answer as my dietician hasn’t bothered getting back to me today. I hope someone can help. So at the moment I am on the reintroduction stage of the low fodmap diet . I am always constipated and unfortunately I am suffering pain at the moment which could be due to a no. Of my different issues .The only pain relief that is on offer to me that works is codeine and due to some of my conditions it’s dangerous for me to become severely constipated which is exactly what codeine does to me . So my question is can I take laxatives without compromising the diet.
