Welcome. You've come to a good place. Our little group here has people of all walking abilities and many different reasons they are here. Have you looked at RFC's post 'Keep going in December'? Maybe think of some manageable goals and join us. I find I'm more likely to accomplish my goal if I write it down, and it's great to check in with each other on how we all are doing. Happy walking.

Welcome Harriet and good to have you on this group.

Interestingly I am following a Programme called the Thrive Programme for Emetophobia (a fear of being sick/others being sick) and I have been following the Programme for a few weeks now and have to say that my thinking is certainly changing and am starting to feel much better. The review regarding the Programme are good. I have added the link below to the weight loss Programme.

I was at a sticking point and I sent a Facebook message to Rob Kelly the author and he got back to me almost straight away and the encouragement he gave me was amazing. I am certainly starting to feel like a different person.

You do have to put in a lot of hard work but you don't achieve anything in life without hard work. Going on a diet without retraining your mind isn't easy.

I hope the above helps.

Oh Harriet, I feel for you! It's so hard to start a new regime, whether it be an exercise plan or an eating plan. And all the different diets out there are so confusing - it's an absolute minefield. I'm in my 60s now, but have battled with my weight since I had my second child at the age of 23. Over the years I've found that it's hard to make changes alone, so the support on offer here is heartfelt - we're a good bunch and we all battle with some aspect of health and fitness! When I joined I could only manage 200 steps, and that was on a good day! Now I can do 2000 on a good day and I feel so much better for it - mentally too. So welcome to the club.

this may sound silly but i had a recent heart scare and have to reduce weight cholesterol and eat healthy ..this also may be boring but i stopped buying anything with red labels on the saturated fat salt and sugar if you can stick with it it loses weight and lowers cholesterol without too much hunger as you can eat wholemeal bread as a healthy food and lots of fruit and veg , chicken and fish and some beef with all visible fat removed and just had a treat on the saturday. i weighed myself every day ( yes i know a bit obsessive ) but thats just me, ive gone from 104.2 kg to 97.1 in about 6 weeks for me this isnt a diet its a lifestyle change and my cholesterol has gone from 7.6 to 6.3 ..if i stat to do my usual stuffing my face i let it go and move on back to my plan its working well for me i hope this helps someone and i dont miss the pies at all lol best of luck
