The Department of Defense (DOD) Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) is inviting Malecare members to review research for the FY20 DOD PCRP, which is part of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).

The PCRP has received Congressional Appropriations of over $1.8 billion and has funded approximately 3,368 awards. Thanks to advocacy by Malecare and others, FY20 Congress has again funded the PCRP with $110 Million. Next year, we will try to lead an effort to get a much higher level of funding.

We want to nominate you to review the impact of proposed research applications.

Reviewers who are prostate cancer patients serve on scientific peer review panels, together with scientist reviewers, to review research applications submitted to CDMRP for funding.

Individuals wishing to serve as a Consumer Reviewer in FY20 are required to contact me for:

1. The electronic nomination form, to be completed and sent by the nominee

2. Your current resume to be sent by the nominee

3. A letter of nomination to be sent by Malecare.

Nomination packets are due by Wednesday, March 18, 2020, so please make your request to me no later than March 7, 2020...indeed, email me now. You can email me at darrylm@malecare.org , with PCRP in the subject line.

I encourage you to explore the CDMRP website to learn more about the Prostate Cancer Research Program. The FY19 recommended for funding list has been posted as well as research highlights cdmrp.army.mil/pcrp/default...

Please contact me if you have questions about submitting a nomination letter or if you have other related questions.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to become a consumer reviewer for the PCRP! And, please share your experience below if you have already served as a reviewer. Thanks.
