I think I have some good news, not sure but I hope it is......my mother passed away over the Easter holidays (that's not the good news) and we had to deal with the insurance company, what a pain in the ass, anyway we decided to look into our policies and decided we needed to get some more coverage. So I called our insurance company State Farm to request quotes for my husband and myself.

After the initial questionnaire they sent a nurse to come to the house and do a medical workup on us, blood, urine, weight, height and so on. I have been diagnosed with Gleason 6 and on AS so I figured I would not be accepted. They had me sign some releases for my Doc and after a couple weeks State Farm called and said they were issuing policies for us, we passed the medical exams, so I guess they are not concerned with my PC and they had not made a bad decision and I will be here for awhile....that's my take on it, I hope that's good news...……….any thoughts on this

Well that's interestingly good news it seems. When I wanted to get an new policy after a mitral valve repair 10 years ago, I was able to get one but it was more than what I had been paying of course. A little over $100.00/mo but doable for me. I don't see myself needing another policy, but I was curious about how a PCa diagnosis would effect me if I wanted to shop around for a new policy.
