Leading pain doctor says no significant pain relievers for at least ten years.

A post I read in the newsletter Pain News Network, a leading doctor/scientist in the field of pain management stated that in her professional opinion there will not be a significant replacement pain reliever for at least ten years, or more. Seems Big Pharma is running out of options for pain relievers. I mean there's only so many ways to mix and market naproxen sodium, acetaminophen, aspirin and ibuprofen. And who wants to spend so much time and money on R&D if the product you make turns out to be the one that takes down your company in lawsuits and insurance payouts later on down the line? For those of us suffering intractable pain, we're screwed. I've studied various methods of relieving pain, from kratom to unwashed poppy seeds, and more. So for now I'm sticking with kratom. It did help me to withdraw from opiates after the FDA/DEA jack-booted thugs said we couldn't take it for pain. Only those "lucky" enough to have cancer could take them. After all, they're dying anyway so what does it matter if they're addicted? Aren't we all dying, really? Can't I and my doctor manage my pain in a manner that best fits me, the individual? Oh yeah, marijuana, medical or otherwise, is not a panacea for a reliable, effective pain reliever. It is a fortunate distraction for the government and the states.
