Unconscious episode a week ago. Pain is constant on right side under rib. Have been prescribed pregablin today. Have never took it before. Concerned about the amount of medications I'm on now. I had booked a double appointment with the hopes of taking less and asked for if poss, was dismissed. Told to lose weight, grrrrrrr.

I'm sorry honey, the lose weight thing is pretty standard for anyone over the size of a stick figure! Yes it may work, but it very likely won't. Did they do any scans or anything to find out the cause of the pain? Pregabalin is pretty good for nerve pain, but if it isn't nerve pain you've got it probably won't do much. Once you start it you can't just stop it either, you need to ween off it. It can make you pretty drowsy, a bit confused and disorientated to start off with. I've been on it for a few years for back pain, sciatica and nerve pain in my feet, and it works on for that.
I really hope you can push your doctor into doing more tests before you start this med, however now this post is 9 days old you've probably started it. So I wish you luck xx
