Hello 6625,I am new to this, but my opinion would be go back to your GP and ask them to refer you to ENT .They may come to the same conclusion, but at least you will have piece of mind. Also tell your GP how down you are feeling . You have been through such a lot in recent years. Take Care x
Hi, all new to this after diagnosis in March 23. Hearing in left ear really poor and went down the route of hearing aid - at first felt good as some improvement but gradually realised not making much difference. (I had firstly spoken to Specsavers who were excellent and directed me to ENT as said due to AN they would give best advice) After 6 months Consultant advised I give up on hearing aid . I initially felt hearing aid was a way of me controlling things (in what is a scary journey at times) but since not using it I think my brain has adjusted coping better with hearing in one ear. Personally I think the hearing aid was a constant reminder of AN, expected it to give me great hearing in left ear and disappointed that it wasn’t the case. However it didn’t work for me, I’d speak to your consultant as it may be different for you. Take care
I am shocked you’ve had such shocking aftercare. There is so much that can be done. Can you go back to your skull based team/consultant/GP and explain how you’re feeling. You should be able to get a BAHA fitted if you wanted to go down that route. Don’t suffer this alone.
