is there any point in applying for disability living allowance in England when you have an AN?

I do have AN and with ever increasing energy costs am thinking perhaps I should claim.

it all depends on how it impacts you on a day to day basis.

Only if your disability has a serious impact on your ability to do your job or on your essential expenses. For most (but not all) AN patients this is not the case.

Hi,

The disability benefit is call Personal Independence Payments (PIP). Assessments are carried out on how a condition/conditions affects your daily life.

It’s worth getting some advice first from Citizens Advice Bureau or The Brain Tumour Charity to see if you may have a claim. I can personally recommend them for all kinds of support and help.

There is a benefits clinic you can book for an initial chat. Have a look on their website under money issues for further information.

Hope this helps and all the best in your AN journey.
