Maybe Meniere`s Disease? (my hearing loss and dizziness)

I saw the ENT consultant last week - he said it may be Meniere`s disease causing my sudden dizzy spells - he prescribed Betahistine 16mg . More research for me to do ... (I really do not like to take drugs, so I`m reluctant to try something for a `maybe`). Just letting others on here know about my journey as I`ve previously posted about my sudden hearing loss in my right ear, reduction in hearing in my right ear (audiology tests), severe dizziness so I have to sit on the pavement (embarrassing) and constant tinnitus in my right ear. If it`s Meniere`s there`s no cure, however, it looks like people suffer with much worse/longer lasting symptoms than mine, so I shall think myself lucky!

Hi DizzyLizzy! Hopefully you’ll get some relief despite not wanting to take the meds, may be worth a try to see if they help? In the meantime maybe there are groups for those with Menieres who can offer some ideas for alternative ways of managing it. Good luck! X

Yes, I`ve been reading Meniere`s posts too ☺️ To be fair, my symptoms seem rather mild to the experiences others are having, so I`m lucky really. xx

I'm glad you have been to an Audiologist. I had hearing loss in my right ear which turned out to be a vestibular schwannoma. Good to check. I think you notice Tinnitus more when you are not busy. Good luck.
