I’m not usually someone who posts things , so here goes.
I have been under the watch and wait for around five years, have a hearing aid and have all of a sudden started loosing my balance. Feeling giddy all the time.
I’ve been to my doctor and they seem to think the balance problems are associated to my neuroma.
I would be very greatful for any advice on my next steps as getting any information from my doctors has been really difficult.
Take care all

Hi , did they decide to keep you on watch and wait ? If so it might be worth contacting your hospital ENT/ Neurosurgeon to let them know your symptoms have been getting worse and see what they say ?
Hi, I also had recurring balance problems, after my radiotherapy. My oncologist pointed me to these exercises: dizziness-and-balance.com/t...
I have been doing them faithfully and things have improved. You need to do them every day and it may take some time to feel the effect (in my case, a couple of months). I still have days when I feel dizzy but on the whole there has been improvement. Sometimes there is some regression but then I just pick up the exercises again and usually it helps.
I think all with this condition suffer balance problems, probably, like me forever. We also lose more hearing as we get older, or various reasons. Take good care
HiI had terrible balance issues. My AN was 21mm and I had Steriotactic radiotherapy in Dec 2020.I received Steriotactic Physiotherapy and was recommended to purchase Nordic walking poles and I can honestly say these have made a massive difference to my confidence in walking! I can now walk slowly without staggering but I need them if I want to walk faster.
Take care, stay positive and best of luck on your journey.
I would wake up and the room would be spinning I mean really spinning I would have to wait until this went off before I could get up left me feeling really sick and so tired
Then the dizzy spells would just come on randomly and I would again have to lie down same feelings afterwards I would be sat at work or out and about and could feel one coming on
My ease also felt full if that makes sense
Went to my GP many times said it was vertigo then Ménière’s when I broke down in front of him that’s when he begrudgingly referred me to consultant and found my AN like yourself I’m on watch and wait.
I suffer the blocked full ear quite a lot and the left side of my nose blocks too which can sometimes make me feel a little dizzy, I’m waiting for an operation on my body to stop the blocking hopefully it will stop the horrible fullness in my ear
I take a tablet 3 times a day and if I feel a dizzy spell coming on or I wake with one I have another tablet I have I take
But I haven’t had these for a while now but I carry my little white tablets all the time as they do work.
If your GP isn’t being helpful can you not call your consultants secretary, my be are great if they can’t help my consultant calls me with advise
Hope you get it sorted soon as I know it isn’t very nice
Hi Kim Thank you for that insight into your balance problems and how your coping with them. In a funny way it’s interesting to hear we are all having similar problems with balance and this certainly helps in a supportive manor.
