Hi there my husband had his neuroma removed in February. The last couple of weeks sometimes he has a sweet taste appear on the same side. Has anyone come across this?

Thank you

Lisa

Yes, my taste is changed. I have a bitter taste in my mouth and no longer enjoy sweet foods. I miss the taste of carrot cake!!

Things that people take for granted.

Yes, I had a real sweetness in my mouth for weeks (months maybe?), plus I smelled burnt garlic the whole time. I think it was nerves re-growing, because it eventually disappeared. And my right nostril has started running 7 years after treatment. Plus my right eye now cries sometimes, but sometimes it still doesn't. If I get upset and cry, I look like the guy in Clockwork Orange (anybody else old enough to remember that film?). It seems it's all "normal" for recovery. I think of it as the brain getting on with its magic stuff. It makes life interesting doesn't it?

Thank you he has been secretly worrying about it. It's encouraging to know it's kinda normal. He does still get headaches but doesn't take it easy as I keep telling him. I like your attitude towards it all, very positive.

Keep well x
