Just wanted to say thanks to all for the considered, calming and informative responses on here.
Had two MRI head scans last week - second one with contrast. And will be seeing the ENT consultant on the 3rd Jan. In the meantime they have very kindly confirmed that what they found was not malignant.
And the lovely Audiologist has fitted me with a hearing aid on my left side. I can hear on both ears again! 😊 Haven't been diagnosed with AN but my GP mentioned the condition and it makes sense of the jaw ache, eye twitching, soreness behind my left ear and numbness/tingling above. I just thought it was stress!
So thank you for your posts. I can sleep a bit again 😊. Xx

Hi hun ... i have also had a mri which was inconclusive so gotta have a contrast mri on the 30th Dec ... im really worried i think its a AN ... im thinking about it day & night how do you all stay so strong ... im still working but my social life as stopped just cant be bothered ... im scared xx
Hi, it's a tricky one - but hopefully whatever it is that they have found is not malignant. Had they been really concerned, we would have referred to the ambulatory admissions ward the next day..! And not two or three weeks later for our further appointments 😃
If it is AN we're likely to have had it for years if not a decade or more... I started to experience hearing loss some 7-8 years ago and tinnitus probably 20years ago....😳. Had a hearing test about seven years ago but hearing loss was not significant. Earlier this year I thought I had an ongoing earinfection/fluid in my ear so went to GP who referred me on to ENT. This time hearing loss was pretty significant...
We should both be fine 😊 😊. Fingers crossed. Take care xx
Today ENT consultant confirmed benign tumour, probably AN, so he is referring me to Manchester. Size 24mm which I think is still classed as medium size. So lucky it's not too big. 😊 😊
We'll see what comes next. Headache, earache and nausea are now constant companions. Would be so nice without them! Makes it hard to concentrate at work.😳
Hi , how you doing ... Got my results yesterday from kingsmill I have a AN, 3mm , so I'm on watch & wait , have a another mri in a year unless symptoms get worse , I also have to go see a consultant at QMC , but the strange thing is I think I knew I had it & now I know , it's get on with life , & hopefully it may not grow , but if it does then we deal with it , but I know now .... I think all the waiting for test results was the hardest part , but it's there & that's it , so onwards & upwards , a lot worse things that can happen , take care xx
So pleased to hear, you sound well and as if you have had good advice. Onwards and upwards 😊
I am seeing consultant and team this coming week so will see what they say. My lovely GP has prescribed anti emetic so has given me a bit of relief from nausea inbetween but having worse earache and headaches 🤔. Even the numb patch is growing 🙄 So hoping that they will be able to advise.
Thank you for sharing your news. Really appreciated 😊😊. All best wishes for the future!
