Best of luck with your surgery. I didn't have headaches before surgery but I had plenty afterwards. You could be lucky and have the opposite result - lets hope so. Keith

I had terrible headaches before my 25mm AN was treated. However, after I was treated by FSR (Fractionated Sterotactic Radio-surgery) in 1998 they rapidly went away and I have not had them since. Have you investigate all treatment options or just assumed surgery is your only choice?

I've been waking up with headaches, (a feeling of pressure on the opposite side strangely and also a feeling of pressure behind my eyes) for about a year. My AN is 3 cm and I am in the process of deciding my treatment options. I was only diagnosed in December. I feel that it is related to my tumour but I think the doctors don't really know if it's connected. I am not sure if it's stress but the headaches where one of the things that made me start to get checked out last year. ( I often feel odd / disorientated as well )

I have suffered debilitating headaches since my acoustic neuroma was diagnosed in 2009 I had gamma knife radiotherapy which alleviated the pain for approaching two years since then the neuroma has enlarged and the head spinal pain returned. I also suffered balance problems and had difficulty walking until hydrocephalus was spotted on a routine MRI. Hyrdrocephalus is a complication of acoustic neuroma and I have since been fitted with a vp shunt. My symptoms are greatly improved headaches are manageable and my balance ataxia is resolved. Hope this is of some help.

I had occasional bad headaches pre-op but nothing really afterwards.
